Our History

Daru Sunna started operation in July 2010 at Nema-Kunku Alkali, Kombo North, West Coast Region.  It is founded by Sheikh Junaide Taal ( current CEO/Principal)

The School started operation in 2010 with seven students (4 boys and 3 girls). The school was registered at The General Secretariat for Islamic/Arabic Education in The Gambia in 26/07/2012. With registration number 893 and also registered at The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council in March 19th, 2013. The school is currently having 618 registered students and among them are boarding (72) students and non-boarding (546) students; among the non-boarding 74 students under scholarship by the school management. 

It has three batches that graduated and the first batch in 2014 with three students namely; Omar Kebba Touray, Muhammad Salih Bah and Rahmatoulie Salih Taal. The second batch graduated in August 08th, 2015 with four students namely; Haruna Muhammad Bah, Ahmad Sara Muhammad Salih Bah, Khaddijatou Salih Taal and Suwadu Muhammad Jallow. The 3rd graduation was on May 21st, 2017 with four students namely, Mustapha Al-Amine Nyass, Ma-Bintou Sainey Minteh, Mariama Abdoul Quddose Jallow, Assiatou Muhammad Jallow.
